There was this sims game years ago for either GBA or Nintendo DS where you started out in jail. There was also a newspaper and I vaguely recall playing mah jong or something like that.
It's not the Sims 2 for DS. I have that game and you run a hotel. Not what I was talking about.

I'm not sure which one takes place in a jail. There are only 7 different sims games on the handheld GBA/DS console. The Sim's Busting Out starts at your Uncle Hayseed's farm, The Urbz sims game starts in a tower in the city where you get fired, Sims 2 starts in your house, and the game has a reality show theme. You end up in jail in that game, but no until near the end of the game. Pets starts in downtown Barkersville, Apartment Pets takes place at your Uncle's Spa, and Castaway starts on a boat. I think you MIGHT be remembering the Urbz version, where your sim actually lives in the tower for a short spell while you are working on earning money to get a place. I vaguely remember playing a sims game which takes place in jail, but it's been a while I don't quite remember what it is. I hope this helps though.

I am debating what sims game/games to get. I heard sims 2, and sims 2 nightlife are the best. Then other people say sims 3 is better. Which ones are the most entertaining? Thanks!

I want a sims game for PC but is it only for mac? Don't tell me I can get one from the DS or Gamecube thing because I want one for the PC like one that'll work on a HP probook.If there are any can you please tell me? I don't really know a lot about the sims and I'm planning to buy myself a little Christmas present.

I don't think that there is a Sims Movies game.
For the Sims 2 game there is no movie theater, but you could try searching the web to see if someone has made custom theater objects.
The Sims 2 Open For Business expansion pack introduces businesses that your Sims can run. You could use the venue ticket machine to charge customers an hourly fee to be on the lot. I have made a theater-like venue using the big wall-mounted television.
